What are Invisible Hearing Aids 

Invisible In the Canal (IIC) hearing instruments are very small.  This premium product fits deep in the ear canal and uses special fitting tools and techniques to fit the patient.   This style of instrument is for that person that may want to put the hearing device in and forget about it or just doesnt want anyone to know that they are wearing them.  Wind noise and feedback are virtually eliminated, as well as, occlusion.  Occlusion is that feeling that you get when you have a head cold and you feel "stopped up."   These long time concerns have been addressed simply by putting the device in very close proximity to the ear drum.   Sound quality and localization are also greatly increased with this style of instrument.  Localization happens when the brain receives a nerve impulse of sound and decifers the direction where that sound originated.   These products are not for everyone.  Call us today at 843-871-3235 or contact us to set up a complete consultation  to see if you are a candidate for this technology.

It’s both completely invisible and packed with Starkey’s industry-leading technology, including the world’s best feedback canceller and the smartest noise reduction and speech preservation system ever developed.   This device is for that person who may not feel completely comfortable leaving it in their ear but, wants the sound quality and discretion that the IIC offers.  You will also see the brands AccuQuest, AudioSync, and Audibel attaching their name to this product.  These practices buy the technology Starkey develops and rebrand it with their trade name on it.

Completely-In-Canal (CIC)

These devices fit completely in the canal. Only the head of a tiny plastic line—with which you insert or remove the instrument—shows above the canal.

 

 

In-The-Canal (ITC)

In-The-Canal instruments feature an earmold that fits down into the ear canal and a smaller portion that faces out into the outer ear.

 

 

In-The-Ear (ITE)

In-the-ear instruments house the technology components in a custom-formed earmold that fits within the outer portion of the ear.
